On the 9th of March a large SSKI squad including Chris sensei and Rachael from the London dojo, Gabriel Van Rel sensei (who teaches in Kentish Town), and led by Adam sensei as Association Coach, attended the annual Legends Open Karate Competition in Bracknell. It was a fantastic day, with some excellent performances in both individual and team events. The London contingent certainly held their own, between them bringing home Gold in the Men’s Senior Kata (Adam Cockfield sensei), Silver in the Men’s Senior Kumite (Gabriel Van Rel sensei), Gold in the Women’s Senior Kumite (Rachael Houlton) and Bronze in the Women’s Senior Kata (Rachael Houlton).
