On the 12th of March a strong SSKI squad, headed by Sensei Adam as association coach, attended the Legend Open Competition in Bracknell. It was a brilliant day for SSKI, who came home with a very impressive haul of medals. Sensei Adam lead the way, winning gold in the senior men’s individual kata and individual kumite, team kata and mixed team kumite, as well as silver in the men’s team kumite. Unsurprisingly this fantastic achievement also earnt him male competitor of the day! Rachael and Eve from the London club also attended, with Rachael taking bronze in the senior ladies’ kata event, gold (along with Sensei Adam and Sensei Dan White) in the mixed team kumite and silver in the ladies’ team kumite. Sensei Eve also did very well in her first external competition, getting through to the final 8 in the senior ladies’ kata and putting in a strong performance in the ladies’ kumite.
